The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying competition, with its subsequent draw for the 2025 edition, followed a standard format. The draw is conducted annually, one day after the AFCON has taken place on the continent. A three-tier association team competition is divided into nine zones: CAF Najem organizers draw groups with participating teams placed in each zone using maps.
The 24 selected teams were grouped into four pots before being divided into six groups, each consisting of four teams.
