The company launched this integrated transportation system, which includes a smooth connection between rail and road transportation, to support daily commuter needs.
Kenya Railways introduced a coordinated Bus Rapid Transport System (BRT) that carries passengers to and from the Nairobi Central Railway Station, the city's commercial center, the Upperhill area, and Westlands.
The buses are contemporary and equipped with cozy seating arrangements, utilizing efficient routes to navigate the city's congested roads with the possibility of linking road transportation to rail travel.
What is the updated Nairobi commuter rail train schedule?
1. NCR (National Capital Region) Bus Yaya Schedule
The commuter bus from Kenya Railways that caters to the Yaya route runs from 7:55 am to 9:00 am and from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm for both departure and arrival.
The key destinations on the route include Serena, Integrity Centre, Chancery, Maktaba Kuu, Nairobi Hospital, D.O.D, Hurlingham, Chaka Place, and Yaya Centre.
2. JKIA schedule
The bus operates between 6.00 am and 8.00 pm, serving commuters traveling to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and Nairobi's city center (Nairobi CBD).
Key attractions include Embakasi Village Railway Station, Cargo Area, and Central Square.
3. Uperhill schedule
The major destinations in the upper schedule are Meladin, KMA, CIC, Britam, TSC, Kadhis Court, CBC, KASNEB, and KNH.
The bus runs daily from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm.
4. Westlands schedule
The route serves passengers traveling from Nairobi Central Station to Westlands and runs from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
These buses drop passengers at Jeevanjee, Museum Hill, CFC Stanbic, Chiromo, Westlands Bus Terminus (WBT), Brookside, Safaricom, ABSA, ABC Place and James Gichuru.
The fare for these routes remains fifty Kenyan shillings per trip, and tickets can be purchased onboard the bus.

The Syokimau railway route connects Nairobi Railway Station to Syokimau, with trains departing as early as 6:40 am on mornings.
The Limuru and Lukenya routes operate evening services from Nairobi Central Station, with the Limuru train departing at 5:20 pm.
Nyanyki rail schedule
On Wednesday, January 22, the Kenya Railways Corporation proclaimed the revival of the Nanyuki tourist train service.
The route suspension came after a part of the railway line was blocked, making it hard for trains to travel between the two places.
The train will depart Nairobi Central Station for Nanyuki every Friday at 9:00 am, returning to Nairobi every Sunday at 9:00 am.
