The father of the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) top-scorer from Kilifi county has spoken.

Pascal Katana, who had taken their daughter, Grace Sidi to her primary school, vowed to reward her abundantly for her outstanding academic performance.

The family paid a visit to the distant educational establishment to show their appreciation for the teachers who had guided the teenager.

In which high school did Sidi study?

Sidi secured a grade A in the 2024 KCSE exam, making her the very first female from her county to achieve such outstanding results.

He couldn't conceal his pride in his intelligent and diligent daughter after her academic achievements.

"I am delighted to be here today to share this special occasion with the students at Bandacho Primary School, which was also home to my daughter Sidi. I express my heartfelt gratitude to God and the teachers who provided her with an excellent education, leading her to attend Bahari Secondary School, a prestigious national institution that attracts outstanding students from across the country," he said.

What were Sidi's grades in the 2024 KCSE?

Katana enthusiastically said that his daughter's preparation in primary school laid the groundwork for her to achieve success in high school, thanks to the lessons she learned from her teachers.

He happily said that he would give his daughter money as a gift for every grade she received in the national examination that she sat for at Bahari Secondary School.

"She achieved six A's, one A minus, and one B plus. I'll give her KSh 1,500 for each of the As, KSh 1,200 for the A minus, and KSh 1,000 for the B plus. Since the school was established, they have consistently sought this level of achievement, year after year, until last year when my daughter became the first to achieve it," he declared proudly.

The success can be attributed also to the collective responsibility of teachers, parents, and the student themselves.

He pointed out that his daughter had consistently demonstrated exceptional academic abilities since joining Form One and was among the top-performing students in her class.

I sat with her, encouraged her to strive for excellence, to not only be among the best but to be the best. I'm pleased she took my advice to heart.

The headmaster of Bandacho Primary School is unknown.

Katana humorously noted that he hoped his daughter's academic achievement wouldn't be surpassed but encouraged all fellow students to constantly strive for excellence.

Elina Karisa, Sidi's mother, humbly echoed her husband's words in expressing her appreciation for the primary school and the teachers.
