US FDA inspectors found several products by Cal Yee Farm contained undeclared ingredients, including milk, wheat, sesame, soy, and Yellow 6 food coloring.

The FDA announced on January 22 that the company's Dark Chocolate Almonds, Dark Chocolate Apricots and Dark Chocolate Walnuts have been assigned a Class 1 recall rating due to the presence of undeclared milk.

There are nine states affected by the recall.
The food items were also sold online, prompting officials to warn that they might be available in other states as well.


TheOther recalled products are: Yogurt Coated Almonds, Dark Chocolate Raisins, Butter Toffee Almonds, Tropical Trail Mix, Mango with Chili, Cajun Sesame Hot Sticks, New Orleans Hot Mix, Butter Toffee Almonds, and select Fruit Baskets.

These items are packaged in clear plastic zip-up pouches with vibrant yellow stickers on the front.
The FDA notified consumers to dispose of the recalled items or return them to the store for a complete refund as of the alert. There have been no reported cases of illness associated with the warning.
Consumption of the listed products poses a serious health risk to individuals with a proven milk, soy, wheat, sesame, Yellow 6, or almond allergy, potentially leading to extreme reactions.
Cal Yee Farm is a family-owned business that has operated for over 60 years, as stated on their official website.
"For the past few years, we have endeavored to supply top-notch dry fruits and nuts to our clients across the United States and internationally. Our commitment is to offer exceptional customer service and fully address all customer requirements," Cal Yee Farm stated.
On Wednesday, the company addressed the recall on its website, stating: 'We performed a voluntary recall of snack products due to outdated labels that failed to include a statement about allergens, which included undeclared milk, soy, wheat, sesame, FD&C #6 and almonds.'

Allergens are now correctly identified in food labels.
The situation has also been escalated to the highest level due to unreported milk being present.
The FDA announced that products impacted include 13 oz packages of Lay's Classic Potato Chips distributed in Oregon and Washington.
Approximately 4.9 million people in the United States have a milk allergy, making it one of the most prevalent food allergies among children.
The symptoms of milk intolerance vary from mild to extreme and may encompass wheezing, vomiting, hives, and gastrointestinal issues.
In severe cases, the condition can also lead to anaphylaxis, a potentially life-threatening reaction that constricts the airways and interferes with breathing.
