Dear Polestar: Yes, please.
Volvo's racing heritage involved motor sports, performance enhancement, and racing before it evolved into the independent Polestar brand that focuses on electric vehicles. Volvo has a long tradition of involvement in rally car and touring car racing, which is why it's pleasing to see the modern Polestar model embracing this legacy with its new line of electric vehicles.
Let's get this out of the way first: No, these Polestar electric vehicles are concepts, not intended for mass production. But the Arctic Circle collection, as it's called, offers a refreshing escape to daydream about while we sit at our desks waiting for winter to come to an end. And it certainly tempts me to hope that Polestar might consider infusing its street cars with some rally-inspired performance.

The car models, coupe-crossover, come equipped with an abundance of racing features.
The three EVs are fitted with adjustable Öhlins dampers and increased ride heights ranging from 20 to 40 mm per vehicle, Pirelli studded tyres, rally-approved OZ Racing wheels, quad front spotlights, tow hooks, racing bucket seats from Recaro, roof light bars, mud flaps and other modifications. Additionally, the Polestar 2 and Polestar 4 have all-terrain skis mounted on their roofs, while the Polestar 3 has a roof basket with a spare tire on top.

Polestar already effectively embodies the austere, minimalist, high-tech, "everyone wears a black turtleneck" Scandinavian vibe; I appreciate it when the brand also showcases its rally-driver spirit. I'd even be enthusiastic about seeing more of it on the roads.
The three cars will make their public debut at the 2025 FAT Ice Race in Zell am See, Austria, this weekend. Check out the photo gallery below for more information.
