Speaking at a press conference after the aviation disaster, the President stated, "Sadly, there are no survivors. This was a devastating and agonizing night in our country's capital and in our country's history, and an enormous tragedy of its kind, leaving us to mourn the sudden loss of every precious life. This event is deeply affecting many people, including those from other countries."
"We had a Russian delegation on board the plane, consisting of some very skilled individuals. Unfortunately, they were on that flight and we're deeply sorry about that loss. As for the cause of this crash, we can't say for sure, but we have some strong theories and hypotheses. We will thoroughly investigate how this tragedy occurred and will take every precaution to ensure it never happens again," Trump added.
The US President emphasized that his administration will set the "highest possible standard" for aviation safety.
He further stated, "On behalf of the First Lady, myself and 340 million Americans, our hearts are with you in your sorrow and our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. We will be making great efforts. My administration will set very high standards for aviation safety. We need the most knowledgeable people in these fields, regardless of their background, language, or identity."
During the briefing, Trump also criticized the Biden administration's aviation policies, arguing that under his leadership, safety had been prioritized over politics.

Earlier in the day, US authorities confirmed that they are no longer expecting to find any survivors, and efforts have now transitioned to a recovery operation, according to DC Fire and EMS Chief John Donnelly, as reported by CNN.

"We are now at a point where we are transitioning from a rescue operation to a recovery operation. Currently, we do not believe there are any survivors from this accident," Donnelly stated during a news conference on Thursday.
Donnelly confirmed that recovery teams have extracted 28 bodies from the passenger jet and one from the military helicopter.
