Newly confirmed Small Business Administration (SBA) head Kelly Loeffler has shared a video tour of her agency's headquarters, showcasing empty offices amidst a push to end remote work for federal employees.
"I'm only in my second day here at the SBA," Loeffler said on Friday. "I couldn't be more thrilled to be here. So I thought I'd take a stroll.
I've found that what's been said is indeed accurate. Approximately 90 percent of our employees have been working from home. However, that's set to change on Monday with the President's return to the workplace.

Jeremy Carl, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Interior Department, argued on X that the inability to fire federal employees results in a lack of accountability.
The issue with working from home in the federal government is that employees cannot be held accountable for their performance," he stated. "When there is no requirement to physically attend the office and no consequences for one's work, that's a formula for disaster.
The billionaire and head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), also weighed in, posting simply, 'No one at work.'
However, not everyone shared the same opinion as Loeffler.


Market researcher Anna Matson pushed back, arguing that remote work has a positive impact on families.

The traditional family setup used to be one parent staying at home and the other working to earn a living. However, the current reality is that both parents are now required to work in order to make ends meet.
'Extending work hours by 2-3 hours daily significantly cuts into family time. Supporting families means opting for remote work whenever possible.'
Meanwhile, Republican members of Congress have requested that Loeffler provide information regarding the Small Business Administration's (SBA) failure to effectively recover fraudulent or misallocated COVID relief funds.
To lead the Small Business Administration on Wednesday, following Howard Lutnick who is set to lead the Commerce Department.

Loeffler previously co-chaired Trump's inaugural committee alongside Steve Witkoff, the former president's special envoy to the Middle East.
Prior to pursuing a career in politics, she held the position of CEO at a financial services firm and then served as a representative for Georgia in the US Congress from 2020 to 2021.
Her partner, Jeffrey Sprecher, is the president of the New York Stock Exchange.
