David Coulthard's 13-time Formula 1 winner son will make his car racing debut this year with Douglas Motorsport in the GB4 series.
Dayton Coulthard, 16, started karting in 2019 and has competed in various categories, including winning the WM plate at Whilton Mill last year.
He has already started testing the new 2025 GB4 car, which is based on the previous GB3 challenger, and has partnered with Douglas as the former GB3 team makes its comeback to competition, having not fielded any drivers last season.
"I'm looking forward to collaborating with Douglas Motorsport for the 2025 GB4 season," said Coulthard.
“Moving into cars will certainly provide me with ample opportunities for growth, and I am confident that the team will be instrumental in my development.”
Douglas team manager Wayne Douglas stated: "We're extremely thrilled to be collaborating with Dayton as he gears up for his inaugural racing events in single-seater vehicles."

He has demonstrated considerable potential thus far with steady growth, and we are eager to collaborate with him to nurture that ability as the season unfolds.
“Moving from karting to single-seaters is a significant step, but one that Dayton is prepared for, and we anticipate even more impressive results as he gains more experience.”
Coulthard becomes the second son of a 1990s McLaren driver to join the GB4 grid for 2025, with Fortec Motorsport recently announcing Luca Magnussen, the younger son of Stewart driver Jan and half-brother of Kevin, as part of its lineup.
