
A new development is in the works.
The new show, titled Avatar: Seven Havens, has a 26-episode order and will centre around a new Avatar. The series will be the third installment in the Avatar universe, following the original series and The Legend of Korra.
The creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are also responsible for Seven Havens. The initial order will be divided into two segments, each consisting of 13 episodes, and is currently being produced under the Nickelodeon Animation's Avatar Studios banner. Details on casting and a premiere date will be announced at a later time.

Avatar: Seven Havens is, according to the show's description, "set in a world shattered by a catastrophic disaster. A young Earthbender discovers she's the new Avatar after Korra -- but in this treacherous era, that title makes her a threat to humanity, not its protector. Pursued by both human and spirit adversaries, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their enigmatic past and save the Seven Havens before the last remnants of civilization crumble."
