
Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India, February 11: The Indian Army in collaboration with Military Engineering Services (MES), IIT Kanpur, and leading national and international experts, hosted a seminar at Bhopal Military Station on "Transforming the Indian Army with New Construction Technologies, Green Energy, and Climate-Resilient Infrastructure".
Major General S K Shrivastava, Chief of Staff, Sudarshan Chakra Corps, emphasized the urgent need for the Indian armed forces to incorporate cutting-edge technologies that enable mission readiness and reduce reliance on traditional energy sources.
The event was part of an ongoing initiative stemming from a Memorandum of Understanding signed between CWE Jhansi and IIT Kanpur on April 22, 2023, aimed at making military stations carbon-neutral. This was the second seminar in the series, with the first held at Jhansi Military Station on World Earth Day 2024.
* It will also facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices among participants from diverse backgrounds and industries.
The seminar also featured virtual participation from 50 military stations, thereby expanding its influence across various defense institutions.
The seminar brought together leading experts from IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad, IISD, CDRI, TERI, BMTPC, CROPC, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, SPG, Startup India, and prominent industry leaders. These organizations are at the forefront of infrastructure innovation, providing valuable insights to advance the development of military infrastructure.
