Leavitt stated during Tuesday's briefing that the new move would 'provide even greater access to the American people.'
"We wish to have more outlets and for new outlets to have the opportunity to participate in the press pool, in order to closely and prominently cover the administration's unprecedented accomplishments," she said.

Traditionally, the pool consists of a reporter from the three wire services - the Associated Press, Reuters, and Bloomberg, a television crew and correspondent, a print reporter, a radio reporter, and five still photographers, including the AP.
There are 13 available press seats on Air Force One, and news organizations pay for the privilege of flying on the presidential aircraft.
No one has taken the places of the AP reporter and photographer who were removed from President Trump's Presidents' Day weekend trip to Mar-a-Lago and Miami.
