The CEO and Chief Technology Officer of the motors company, a long-time key figure, has stepped down from his position. The electric vehicle startup made the announcement on Tuesday, prior to its quarterly and annual earnings report.
Now that we've successfully launched the Lucid Gravity, I've decided it's the right moment for me to step down from my positions at Lucid," Rawlinson said in a statement. "I'm extremely proud of what the Lucid team has accomplished together over the past twelve years. We've gone from a small company with a grand vision to a well-respected global leader in sustainable mobility.
In a press release, Lucid stated that the decision was "part of the company's regular succession planning process." Rawlinson, previously the chief engineer at Tesla from 2009 to 2012, will remain at Lucid as a strategic technical advisor to the chairman of the board.
