Ministers and their delegations have arrived in Paris for a meeting on Ukraine, ahead of the Munich Security Conference this weekend, indicating that any future peace agreement would need to be negotiated with Ukraine and its European allies.

The meeting involved the foreign ministers from Poland, Spain, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine.

Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Andriy Sybiha, stated: "Europe plays an active role in ensuring a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace for Ukraine. Ukraine's security and European security are inseparable."

Europe must do 'even more and more'.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski addressed the press upon his arrival, stating that Poland would "unwaveringly seek intensified military support for Ukraine" along with continued pressure on Russia through the imposition of sanctions.

He emphasized the significance of cooperation with the US in defending Europe, but noted that European countries must take on more responsibility and make greater efforts to strengthen their own defenses.

"There is no better safeguard for our continent's security than a strong partnership between the Atlantic nations," Sikorski said.

“Europe should increasingly take on more responsibility for its own defense, both for the alliance's benefit and its own interests.”

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot stated: “There will be no just and lasting peace in Ukraine without the involvement of Europeans,” following the meeting.

In a recent phone call, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Putin and Trump agreed to arrange a face-to-face meeting, and that the Russian president informed Trump that he is prepared to welcome Americans to the country.
