It appears that the agreement between ODM leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto is beginning to yield results.

After the new agreement, the president granted Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition control over some committees that were previously led by Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
Which committee was Oburu Odinga elected to?
On Thursday, February 20, Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga was elected as the chairperson of the Senate's Standing Committee on Energy.
"Senator Dr. Oburu Odinga of Siaya has been elected unanimously as the Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Energy," the Senate stated.
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator William Kisang will serve as deputy to Raila's sibling in the influential committee.
The committee, formerly led by Senator Wamatinga Wahome from the Nueri area, focuses on issues concerning the exploration, development, production, upkeep, and regulation of fossil fuels within the country.
At the same time, Catherine Mumma, a close associate of the ODM leader, was elected vice-chairperson of the Senate Committee on Devolution and Inter-governmental Relations.
Kiambu Senator Karungo Wa Thang'wa has been reassigned to the Devolution Committee following his removal from the Transport Committee.
Reacting to the changes, Thang'wa pledged to champion the complete transfer of all devolved functions along with the necessary funds.
After being reassigned from the Roads, Transportation, and Housing Committee, I was appointed to the Devolution Committee. Today, our first meeting took place, and Senators Abbas and Mumma were elected as Chair and Vice Chair, respectively.
"With my extensive background in devolution, I am dedicated to enhancing its effectiveness, ensuring governors are held accountable, and pressuring the national government to fully transfer all devolved powers along with their associated resources," Thang'wa stated.
