Washington, D.C., February 14 (ANI): Tesla CEO Elon Musk met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Blair House in Washington, D.C. on Thursday. During the meeting, Modi and Musk discussed ways to strengthen ties between India and the US in areas such as innovation, space exploration, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development.
PM Modi and Elon Musk also spoke about opportunities to deepen cooperation in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, and good governance. Musk, who heads the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), was accompanied by three of his children.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said, "Prime Minister and Mr. Musk discussed strengthening collaboration between Indian and US entities in innovation, space exploration, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development. Their discussion also touched on opportunities to deepen cooperation in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, and good governance."
During a meeting with Musk, PM Modi discussed India's progress toward implementing 'Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.' Prime Minister Modi took to X to share updates on his meeting with Musk.
Prime Minister Modi posted on X, stating, "I had a very productive meeting with @elonmusk in Washington DC. We discussed several topics, including those that are close to his heart, such as space, transportation, technology, and innovation. I shared with him India's initiatives towards reform and implementing the concept of 'Minimum Government, Maximum Governance'."
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi met with Elon Musk's children, who were in attendance. Musk also presented the Prime Minister with a special gift prior to their discussion.
In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi stated, "It was also a delight to meet Mr. Elon Musk's family and to discuss a wide range of subjects!"
After meeting with Prime Minister Modi, Elon Musk departed from Blair House in Washington, DC, accompanied by his three children.
Prior to his meeting with Musk, Prime Minister Modi met US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz at the Blair House. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval were also in attendance at the meeting.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to meet President Donald Trump at the White House later. This will be PM Modi's first visit to the United States since Donald Trump took office for a second term.
Prime Minister Modi arrived in the US for a two-day visit on Wednesday. He was greeted by India's Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, and other officials at the airport. Later, PM Modi met with the Indian expatriate community, who were waiting to welcome him outside the Blair House on Wednesday.
