South Korean visitors have shown a significant 25% year-over-year increase in their interest in traveling to Ha Giang, a mountainous region in northern Vietnam, according to data from online travel booking platform Agoda.
According to Agoda's accommodation searches on its platform in January 2025, American tourists ranked second, followed by Taiwanese.
In 2024, tourists from Southeast Asia led the way, with Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia emerging as the leading source markets.
Last year, Ha Giang received 3.3 million tourists, which included 380,000 international visitors.
Ha Giang is gaining popularity among affluent tourists.
All Asia Vacation (AAV), a company that specializes in organizing luxury tours for high-net-worth individuals visiting Vietnam, has hosted several prominent guests in Ha Giang, including a Canadian billionaire in the fields of big data and cryptocurrency in 2022, as well as American and Thai millionaires in 2023.
Recently, two American millionaires, Jeff Grinspoon and Jon Thomas Foley, visited Ha Giang, a location in Vietnam.
