British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated he is prepared to dispatch troops to Ukraine if necessary, following a ceasefire, to guarantee the security of the United Kingdom and Europe.
The newspaper quoted him as saying he felt "very deeply the weight of responsibility that comes with potentially putting British servicemen and women in harm's way."
"But any role in ensuring Ukraine's security is ensuring the security of our continent, and the security of this country," he added.
Labour leader Starmer confirmed he will be attending a high-level meeting in Paris on Monday to address increasing concerns about US efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
He also stated that he would meet with US President Donald Trump in the days ahead, noting that Britain has a distinct role to play in ensuring that Europe and the United States maintain close cooperation.
