Manchester United staged a dramatic turnaround to secure a draw in a highly engaging 2-2 tie at Goodison Park against Everton.
The Red Devils trailed 2-0 at halftime, but they made a remarkable comeback in the second half.
With the score level at 2-2, Everton were given a penalty, which would have given them a three-point advantage.
However, after a lengthy video assistant referee check, referee Andy Madley overturned the decision, giving the visitors a sigh of relief. Ashley Young was brought down by Harry Maguire and the Premier League Match Centre explained.
The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) reviewed the referee's decision to award a penalty to Everton for a challenge by Maguire on Young and determined that no foul had occurred. The VAR recommended to the referee that he review the call on the field. The referee changed his original decision and play was restarted with an indirect free-kick.
Ruben Amorim's side were second best in the first half and were fortunate to only concede two goals.
In the second half, the introduction of Garnacho and Chido Obi boosted their morale. Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte gave them a much-needed tie.
