
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is prepared to engage in direct negotiations with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on a ceasefire. However, other partners must also be involved in those talks. Zelensky made this statement during a conversation with British journalist Piers Morgan.
He would negotiate with Putin "if that's the only setup by which we can establish peace for the citizens of Ukraine."
Zelensky, then, does not see the sense in pursuing a diplomatic solution alone with the Russian delegation in the same room. “Then the U.S., Europe, Ukraine and Russia should all be there,” he told Morgan.
