In Marseille's former Villa Méditerranée, this replica of the renowned Palaeolithic cave, discovered by French diver Henri Cosquer in 1985, relates the story of this incredible discovery. Opened in 2022, a short distance from the Triperie calanque – the site of the original prehistoric cave, submerged 37 meters below the surface –, this center showcases the captivating history of the cave paintings in state-of-the-art facilities.
The city was gradually reclaimed by the rising Mediterranean. A truly captivating and enchanting experience!
