The Phu Quoc International Passenger Port is being built in Duong Dong ward, Phu Quoc city, covering a total area of 180 hectares, with 2.8 hectares on land.

The project has an investment of over 1.64 trillion Vietnamese dong (approximately 69 million US dollars) and is expected to be finished after a decade of work, spanning from 2015 to 2025.

The port infrastructure features an 850-meter-long breakwater and a pier that can support passenger ships with a gross tonnage of up to 225,000 tons.

The rear docking area can also accommodate smaller vessels, such as container ships and cargo ships.

Upon completion, the port will allow luxury cruise ships accommodating 3,000-4,000 tourists to seamlessly dock and visit Phu Quoc.

In addition to upgrading the island's infrastructure, the port is anticipated to play a vital role in drawing investors and international tourists, thereby accelerating Phu Quoc's growth as a prime destination for tourism and high-end services.
